This our second online gallery featuring Mueller, whose 2012 feature can be found here and his art has also appeared in Issue 6 of the 12th Street print journal. Included in the gallery is a poster announcing Mueller’s upcoming solo exhibition, which will take place in June 2014:

TBD Brooklyn Gallery is proud to present “Seize the Stem,” an immersive solo exhibition of new work by the interdisciplinary artist Maximilian Mueller. The body of work showcased explores the idea of romance, while still conveying social and political problems of modern times. In this show, Mueller encourages us to question that as a society, we have become increasingly fixated on technological devices. Not only are we missing out on natural beauty, but we are also damaging it by polluting our planet and mistreating our wildlife.

A student of Parsons The New School for Design, Maximilian Mueller (b. 1993, Washington, D.C.) is a New York artist and designer that uses cartoonish figures and symbolic imagery in a melancholic and nostalgic style, to depict serious subjects such as society, politics and culture. Mueller satirically expresses his perspective on primitive ideas and current worldwide affairs, through motifs of nature and romance. Visit his website at http://www.theartofmaximilianmueller.com
